In our latest post, we briefly mentioned the negative impact that synthetic clothing has on the environment.
Sustainable clothing has numerous positive aspects that make it a preferable choice for conscious consumers, although, what we mean by sustainable is undefined.
In fashion, several characteristics are associated with sustainability. For instance, it can be used when referring to productions with limited items that avoid waste and recycling, or when describing cloths that have been colored using natural elements, or by producing pieces of clothing using mainly natural fibers such as cotton, bamboo, linen, silk, mohair, merino, cashmere, alpaca, and vicuña.
One significant feature of Amanda Ahlström is its sustainable approach. Clothing is not mass-produced, which helps reduce the negative environmental impact of the fashion industry.
Another crucial aspect is the use of natural fibers for our clothing production. We select exclusively 100% natural fibers, eliminating the reliance on synthetic materials, as we do acknowledge that only natural fibers can be fully recycled.
Recycling natural fibers involves transforming used clothing and textiles back into useful raw materials, reducing waste, and promoting a circular economy.
By embracing sustainable clothing, individuals can contribute to a more environmentally friendly and ethical fashion industry.
Being focused on the creation of limited quantities of high-quality garments, our next posts will illustrate the characteristics of alpaca wool.
